Protest against the derogatory comments on SC/ST and OBC

In their meeting held on January 28, 2013, Ambedkar Student’s Association (ASA) of Punjab University, Chandigarh has condemned the comments of Mr. Ashish Nandi, a sociologist on the SC/ST and OBC. Ambedkar Students' Association (ASA) demanded from the Centre Govt. to take a serious notice on this ill-fated statement.

All the member of the ASA felt that his statement will cause a deep pressure on the mind of the employees of SC/ST and OBC, who are working in the Govt. Sector. The so-called high caste officers will be tempted to mentally torture the SC/ST and OBC in the Govt. offices and will also spoil their image in the society.

The derogatory comments on SC/ST and OBC by the so-called sociologist in a literature fair on the day when nation celebrates the implementation of the Indian Constitution which was written by a veteran SC Leader Bharat Rattan Dr B.R. Ambedkar, interpreted the mind set of the so-called high class people towards the Dalits.

ASA demands that Govt. should issue a non-bailable warrant to arrest the Culprit and a case are registered under the SC/ST Act.
