Today Executive Members of Ambedkar Students’ Association, Panjab University, Chandigarh, clarified its stand about the upcoming PU Students Council Election. ASA once again revisited its Vision and Mission that ASA is an association of SC/ST/BC Students and working for the cause of marginalized students. It was said that ASA is mainly work for the protection and promotion of SC/ST/BC students in particular. It was further observed that ASA is a non-political organization and does not have any affiliation with any of the political party in the campus. From the beginning of the journey of ASA it holds non-political character. ASA has nothing to do with the election taking place in the Campus and ASA do not support any of the political party in campus nor fights the Election. Further, It resolved that if any of the Executive member of ASA is found to fight the campus election is automatically ceases to hold his/her post in ASA Executive Body. It was also told that all members of ASA are free to cste vote to any of candidate of their choice and ASA never issues any directions or guidelines in this.
